This once in a lifetime experience to not only see the famous keirin races in Japan, but also to visit the world renowned keirin school, where all cyclists must learn to ply their trade.
Led by Former World Champion and Olympic Medallist, Shane Kelly, this tour will give any keen cyclist a chance to see the ‘inside world’ of Japanese keirin racing.

Proposed Tour Highlights

- Head to the home of the Japanese keirin – the keirin school in Shuzenji, Shizuoka Prefecture.
- Visit the factory of NJS approved bike builder, Nagasawa-san in Osaka.
As well as see some of the great sights of Japan, including Mt Fuji, Osaka Castle and experience some of the great Japanese cultural activities. This tour is not to be missed by cyclists, and lovers of the mystique that is the Japanese keirin racing.
We would also like you to bring your bike, and ride some of the beautiful regions of Japan as we travel between race meetings. Your helmet, pedals and shoes will be all you need as you hit the track with Shane in Shuzenji at the Japanese Keirin School. Shane will take you through your paces if you have never ridden on the track, while more experienced riders may enjoy a one-on-one competition with Shane and the other guests.
Your Hosts
Shane Kelly, OAM is a four time world champion and has silver & dual bronze Olympic medals to his name. Shane was named the International rider of the year twice while competing in the invitation only Japanese Keirin Series, including in 1998 as reigning World Champion. Shane has an in depth knowledge of the Japanese Keirin scene, and this guarantees a truly VIP experience for all guests.
Cykel
Cykel is an Event Management company, run by Rob Carson. Rob has been running team and cycling events for 18 years. His passion for cycling has extended to providing this unique travel experience for others who are just as passionate about cycling as he is.
